Juvenile Court

Protecting the Law for 27+ Years

Mr. Chambliss has extensive experience representing clients in juvenile court in both dependency (W & I 300) and delinquency (W & I 600) actions. By law, because of their developing brains, the focus of juvenile court is on the rehabilitation of the child and I view few things in law as more important than limiting the damage a juvenile record can do following someone into their adult life. Recent voter approved changes to juvenile law have had the salutary effect of eliminating direct filing in adult court of charges against juveniles by re-instating fitness hearings before any juvenile can be transferred to adult court.

Serious charges can be brought in juvenile court which if not handled correctly can have an effect once the child becomes an adult. I am always mindful of the impact of what happens in juvenile court on the client’s future and consider it a very serious obligation to represent your child in such a setting.
